what i think about the criticisms of the mass media effect

One of the criticisms of the mass media is that the media tackles social problems backwards. I think this is really true because a problem which is supposed to treat or tackle a social problem tends to treat it the wrong way. An example is when the media mobilizes people towards a particular they sometimes do it the wrong which causes a negative impact on the society

Another criticisms of the mass media is that it treats children as inadequate, not capable of understanding certain issues I strongly think children must be considered when certain issues are being addressed by the media because most children in Ghana and all over the world now have access to the radio, television and even the internet and they can be prone to all kinds of information whether good or bad.

All these are under social functions because they create some kind of awareness to society

POLITICAL FUNCTIONS
1. They agitate for change
2. mediator
3. investigate
4. link
5. gatekeepers
6. interpret
7.watchdog

These points are under political functions because the media keeps the politicians onthe toes and informs the people about the political situation



ECONOMIC FUNCTIONS

1. disseminate information
2.educate
3. create employment

Education, employment and dissemination of information are under economic because they help in building the country
